A mother hippo is trying to give birth in a rushing river and the moment of birth has come.

The baby hippo has not yet adapted to the outside environment and needs help from its mother.

A nearby crocodile has noticed the presence of the baby hippo and is hungry for a meal. It ignores the carcasses of nearby antelopes and approaches the baby hippo’s location.

The mother hippo is extremely wary of the crocodile and has made preparations. The crocodile realizes that the plan has been exposed and quietly leaves.

The baby hippo is then guided by the adult hippo to climb to the shore successfully.
