While on safari, the head ranger at MalaMala Private Game Reserve spotted the young daughter of the famous leopardess, Sibuye, resting high in an Apple-Leaf Tree. Unknown to the leopard, she had company—a lively little squirrel hiding among the branches.
As soon as the leopard became aware of the squirrel, the two embarked on an unexpected game of chase. Rather than fleeing in fear, the squirrel boldly stood its ground, darting up and down the tree trunk as the curious leopard followed, trying to catch it. Despite being much smaller, the squirrel managed to outmaneuver the leopard at every turn, showing off its agility and daring spirit.
At one point, the squirrel cleverly froze right in front of the leopard, blending in with the tree. But with a sudden flicker of movement, the game resumed, and the squirrel had the leopard zigzagging from the top of the tree to the ground in a playful back-and-forth pursuit.
After about five minutes of this energetic game, the squirrel finally dashed into the bushes, either tired or satisfied with its fun. The leopard gave chase but couldn’t keep up with her quick little companion.
